Historic events have marked this land. The Crater Lake (center right) was formed after a volcanic eruption destroyed Mount Volcar during the War of the Gods. As I was writing The Dark Lady's Stone I realized that the Wilderskill River that once originated in Crater Lake had to flow west to east, so it now begins in the Mesaurian Mountains and ends at Crater Lake. 
In Troubadour's Quest, Loriano and Tora cross the Empty Lands of Miratan and end up in Candelei, the City of Gold. Their goal is Mount Zophra, the Drakken Mountain.
